Adulting is hard, too

"Being a teenager is supposed to be hard. It’s supposed to be dramatic and life altering and then you’re supposed to come out of some dark brooding phase and become an adult."
I wrote that in one of my novels...as an adult...writing about teenagers...
But what acutally makes an adult? My friend said a boy becomes a man when he has sex for the first time. Is a boy ready for the responsibility that comes with having sex? Wouldn't it make more sense for that boy to already be a man so he is ready?
Do our actions propel us forward? They can...they can also send us backward. I have met plenty of adults that make childish choices. I'm tired of categories and labels. It's exhausting. Who are we to judge? We should be free to simply be. We should make our choices and own them, immature or not. We should apologize when we are "wrong" and attempt to improve for the next time. And, we should embrace others, as they are.
Try one thing today...I want you to give a genuine compliment to a stranger. You actually have to focus on someone else for a second...just imagine...
